WHY HOME GARDENERS CHOOSE ASPARAGUS SEEDS
Start asparagus from seed and build a dedicated perennial planting at home. The early seasons focus on developing strong roots and crowns for future growth.
1
START A LONG-TERM EDIBLE GARDEN
Sow one seed about 2–2.5 cm deep in a free-draining mix. Keep it evenly moist, not soaked. Germination may begin within 2–4 weeks.
3
A CLEAR SEED-STARTING PROCESS
Asparagus rewards patient gardeners. Allow the fern growth to strengthen the underground crown during Years 1–2. Harvest only from Year 3 onward if the plants are vigorous.
5
GROW WITH REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS
Long heavy rain and standing water can damage developing roots. Use fast-draining soil, provide good airflow and protect young plants from prolonged downpours.
4
PHILIPPINES-SMART CARE
No large farm needed. Start the seeds in deep nursery cells, then transfer sturdy seedlings to a deep pot, raised bed or permanent sunny garden bed.
