WHY GROW LONG EGGPLANT?
Grow broccoli with slender stems and small green florets. A different harvest to try when you want more variety in your home garden.
1
SMALL FLORETS, LONG STEMS
After cutting mature shoots, the plant may produce smaller side shoots with suitable care. Check for closed buds and harvest as they develop.
3
WATCH FOR NEW SIDE SHOOTS
Choose a cooler location or cooler months when possible. Give plants light, airflow and draining soil; protect them from prolonged rain and extreme heat.
5
PLAN FOR COOLER CONDITIONS
Baby broccoli grows upright. Start seedlings in a tray, then move them to a garden bed or a sufficiently large, well-drained pot.
4
NO TRELLIS TO BUILD
Harvest the tender stems and florets for stir-fries, steaming or soups. Pick what you need, then prepare it for your family’s next meal.
